Is it suprising that this has happened? I have been involved, as a parent only, with siblings playing at national level for a number of years. In my experience, it is not always the better players that get picked but a large number of those who have contacts in the game or, play for the coached club.
This year, the U16s girls coach, Karen Burton, sent out a note to the players left in the last 16 of the squad that those not selected to go to Portugal in May would still have a chance to get a place in the team to go to the euros. A week after the team returned, a letter was sent out saying that this had changed. The woman is a joke!!!!!!!!!!!
Kida who thought they still had a chance were kicked in the teeth.
Further to this, it is blatantly obvious that the coaches in England are third rate. Having seen the england coached drinking, rather than watching their opponents, who they had beaten comfortably before, their coaches came and watched England and turned them over reasonably easily.
Poor coaches, lies etc. Do I need to say more?
